CAPE TOWN: Residents after two pit bulls killed a 92-year-old woman from Bonteheuwel in Cape Town on Tuesday afternoon. The incident was confirmed this evening by Angus Mckenzie, the district councilor of the area. He claimed the aggressive dogs scaled a "fairly high wall" to enter the elderly woman's home.
The councilor said:
I can sadly confirm that earlier today, a 92-year-old female was killed on her Loganberry Street property after neighbors two pitbull dogs gained access to her property and bit her to death. Both dogs were removed from the property by Law Enforcement officials. An inquest has been opened after the dogs managed to jump over a reasonably high fence to access the deceased property. No arrests have been made in the case.
Mckenzie passed condolences to the family of the deceased woman.
My deepest sympathy goes to the family and friends of the deceased after suffering this most horrific and tragic death.
A source that spoke to Ezitshisayo said they were shocked by the incident.
It’s shocking that ouma has been killed by pit bulls. Many people handed away their pit bulls away in the past few months, but we knew that house. We are all shocked that ouma died a painful death. We are shocked. I hope the dogs will be killed for taking a human’s life.
