As the party's elective conference comes to an end, John Steenhuisen has been chosen to serve another term as the federal head of the DA.

As the party seeks to overtake the ANC in the national election of 2024, Steenhuisen, who was running for re-election, and former Johannesburg mayor Dr. Mpho Phalatse were the front-runners for the position of party leader.

At the party's elective meeting on Sunday, Greg Krumbock and Bridget Masango declared the new leadership.
