Today we wake up to yet another devastating story caused by taxi drivers. Two Bolt drivers were attacked at Maponya Mall by taxi drivers.
This is not a foreign thing; the country has witnessed countless attacks on Bolt and Uber drivers by taxi drivers or random hijackers that pose as passengers.
The taxi drivers in this country have placed themselves on a path of no return. So blatantly dangerous in terms of the mind and body is the practice of the taxi industry that one wonders if the interests of commuters in this country are ever taken into consideration.
The taxi industry's quest for power in public transportation has led them to destroy with utter ruthlessness whatever stands in their way.
One cannot request a ride near the taxi rank because the Bolt driver is 100% susceptible to getting attacked by taxi drivers.
The taxi industry is making it difficult for both the Bolt drivers and its users.
What needs to be done to ensure that such ceases to happen? Who is giving the taxi industry so much power to think that it can do as it pleases?
