During the operation on January 24 and 25, 2024, between 23:45 and 16:00, members of the Seloshesha and Welkom Tactical Response Team received intel about the suspects attempting to sell stolen rifles to Lesotho nationals. Going above and beyond, a team member even utilized his private vehicle to discreetly approach a house in Dipompong Monyakeng, Wesselsbron.

Executing the operation with precision, the team tactically surrounded the house, uncovering the suspects inside with firearms and ammunition concealed under a duvet on the bed. Notably, one of the suspects was in possession of a 357 Magnum Special revolver without a valid license.

The seized firearms, including a Fuji Dynamic Auto Shotgun, Piettro Beretta Musgrave Shotgun, Mauser Hunting rifle, silver hunting rifle, and the aforementioned 357 Magnum Special revolver, were recovered with visible serial numbers. Additionally, live rounds were confiscated, comprising 12 X SP 12 red shotgun rounds, 15 X green SP 12 rounds, and 25 X 357 Magnum Special rounds.
