According to Eyewitness News, a South African delegation will go to Tanzania on Monday to arrange the return of prisoner Thabo Bester and his lover Nandipha Magudumana.

The two were apprehended on Friday night in Tanzania, near the Kenyan border, along with a third individual thought to be a Mozambique national.

Bester, also known as the Facebook Rapist, escaped from the Mangaung jail in May of last year.

According to officials, they did not have entrance stamps on their passports, indicating that they were in the country illegally.

Bester and Magudumana, according to Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola, will most likely be deported:

He has already been charged, tried, convicted, and fled. Thus, if he escapes and travels to another country, it is evident that he would be deported back to South Africa to finish his prison sentence. When he arrives, we can deal with the matter of escape and all of that.

He was serving a life sentence for rape and murder, but officials only discovered he was no longer at the jail last month.

He'd been on the run with Magudumana since then.
