Assumpta Ngubeni is a versatile dancer who has made a name for herself in the club dancing scene. Her passion for dancing started at a young age and has since grown into a successful career. In this interview with HMR News Updates, she shares her journey, experiences, and aspirations.
Assumpta explains that she was never made to go into dancing. It's always been a part of her since a young age, and she just grew into it. "Basically, I am a born natural dancer, but the weird part is that I suck at doing choreography," she says.
As a versatile dancer, Assumpta can adapt to various dance styles. However, she is well-known for her pop dancing. She has performed in various clubs in Kenya, South Africa, Angola, and Dubai as a paid dancer. She has also appeared in music videos for upcoming artists and performed at events such as the DJ Mahoota Carnival Live event.
"I believe that dance has no language barrier and it has the power to bring people from different backgrounds and cultures together. It's a universal language that connects people on a deeper level," says Assumpta. "That's why I enjoy dancing and sharing my talent with others."
Besides dancing, Assumpta has also dabbled in modeling, which is another passion of hers. While she hasn't worked on it extensively, it's definitely something she wants to explore more in the future.
When asked about her future goals, Assumpta says she plans to start her own dance classes and teach others who are interested in learning different dance styles. "I want to pass on my knowledge and skills to the next generation of dancers," she explains. Additionally, she is also working on her music career and hopes to become a well-known musician.
While Assumpta is open to exploring different types of dance, there are certain types she wouldn't dare to do, such as stripping in a strip club. "I'm not comfortable taking my clothes off in front of strangers, even though some people assume that's what I do for a living," she says.
Men do recognize Assumpta from social media and clubs and approach her, but it can feel uncomfortable when they tell her their fantasies about her. As for her past boyfriends, they were understanding of her career as a dancer, and they never had any issues.
Assumpta Ngubeni studied at Lavela Secondary School and Prudens High School before attending the University of Johannesburg for two years. However, she dropped out to pursue her dancing dreams. If given the opportunity to go back and finish her course, she says she wouldn't. Instead, she would rather study business management.
Assumpta's passion for dancing has taken her on a journey that has allowed her to explore her talent and share it with others. She hopes to continue to inspire others to pursue their dreams and believes that dance is a powerful tool that can bring people together.
