Lebowakgomo Police Apprehend Suspect in Swift Response to Tragic Incident
Polokwane - A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, 15 October 2023, as a 30-year-old man lost his life in a fatal stabbing at a local tavern in Leshikishiki Village. The alleged perpetrator, a 20-year-old suspect, is set to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate's Court on Monday, 16 October 2023, facing a charge of murder.
The fatal attack occurred following a heated argument between the suspect and the victim. According to reports, the suspect, in a fit of rage, drew a knife and stabbed the victim, resulting in the victim's immediate demise. Paramedics certified the victim's death at the scene.
Local authorities swiftly responded to the incident after it was reported, leading to the prompt arrest of the 20-year-old suspect. The police have not released further details about the nature of the argument or the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
Limpopo's Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the Investigating team for their exemplary detective work, which led to the rapid arrest of the suspect. "We are committed to ensuring that justice prevails. Our officers have acted swiftly to bring the suspect to book, and our investigations are ongoing to uncover all the details surrounding this tragic event," stated Lieutenant General Hadebe.
